The ribs were also overly charred. I enjoy a bit of char, but these were burnt to a crisp. I ended up throwing most of the brisket in the trash and felt like I had wasted my money. Overall, I would rate the food 2 out of 5.
I went for a late lunch yesterday at this restaurant for the first time. It was a bit difficult to find, but I eventually located it. The interior was very clean. The hot links were delicious, and the brisket had good flavor and a nice smokey taste, although it was a bit dry, which may have been due to the time of day. The portions were generous for the price, with 2 meats, a side, soda, and a roll for $20. The service was excellent, with the friendly and personable tall lady behind the counter. Overall, it was a great BBQ spot off the beaten path. I am looking forward to my next visit and would highly recommend it.
The meat was excellent, moist, and tasty. The rib tips were a little dry, but that's to be expected. Overall, the meat was excellent. The sausage was also very good. Unfortunately, the sides were not as good. The price was quite fair - we had the slugger and 4 drinks for approximately $73. Not bad, as there was still some leftover meat for our party of 5. It was a satisfying meal that made us appreciate the finer things in life - family and good BBQ.
We took our friend here for the first time and he was so happy to have the rib tips. He said they were the best rib tips he's had since he's been in AZ.Ordered the catfish and so happy to report that it's real catfish and not swai. The catfish was fresh, cooked to order, and delicious. The sides of mac n cheese and collard greens were tasty and flavorful.
The expectations were high because of the reviews but item by item it was below standard.Mac n Cheese: reheated with microwave and a 2/10. Sticky and no flavor.Brisket and pork rib: dry and also reheated with a microwave. 1/10.BBQ Sauce: watered down to make more of it most likely. Flavor was okay but super watered down. 3/10Drink: warm/room temperature sodaA few things were wrong with the drink. First, they didn 't warn me that they were warm or room temperature. When we ordered them the lady asked her coworker to put the soda bottles in a freezer in the back. Then I asked if they had cups and ice. The response was this: Yes, we normally don 't do that but because they 're not cold we can do it . Once I received the sodas, I asked for the cup and ice and the guy who handed me the bottles said We don 't have any. Sorry . What kind of place doesn 't have ice available in a city that is usually over 100°F? And if that 's too much to ask for, sure, then just give the customer a heads up that the sodas are not cold and there also no ice.If I had been given a warning I would have taken off the sodas from the order and I would have been happy with just the food no drink.Advice for you: give the customer a warning about the food and drink conditions if not fresh or cold.Overall it 's a solid 2/10 or 1 ?.
