The server who took our order seemed to be flirting with my husband, making him feel uncomfortable. The girl, named Melanie, appeared very unprofessional. When my husband inquired about the menu, she responded with flirtatious behavior, smiling and attempting to touch his hand. When I asked to see the menu, she was dismissive and had an attitude with me. This was an uncomfortable situation for us, and I hope the management considers improving their staff.
I visited the restaurant on my way to work around 4 PM. Although it was quite empty, I was eager to try their food. I've had pupusas at other places that were merely average, but these were quite good. I ordered three revueltas and had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes, which is a normal wait time, so I have no complaints. I can only comment on the revueltas since I didn't try anything else, but I found the curtido and salsa to be flavorful as well.
A lady was spraying herself with perfume near the food pickup area, and to make matters worse, some of the pupusas were missing cheese. I was quite disappointed!
If you want glamour and scenery in dining surroundings this is not your place BUT if you want great Salvadorian food you are in luck. We have had take out often but this is the first in house dining in over 3 years. Took my friend and the rest of our household here and as usual we were very pleased. The pupusas' are great as usual, the sides are good, and the people and service were great. The surroundings have not been updated for years and caution, the rest rooms are really bad. It is hard to find, in a strip mall in south Phoenix, but certainly the best pupusa's we have found. Our friend who lives in our household is from El Salvador and attests to the authenticity of the food.
The inside looks more like a sports bar. I ordered and the wait time to receive my food was around 30 minutes. I went here to try the plato loco, had high expectations based on the reviews of this place, to start the prices are not accurate, took time for my food to be out and the food order was not the same as described on the menu. When I get home I see everything is there except tortillas, fried beans and only 2 chorizos instead of 4 and a lot of small pieces of meat which that wasn't on the description on the menu. Everything was too greasy and almost burnt, the only thing that was okay were the pupusas. Not worth my 20 minute drive there.Parking: It's inside a plaza which has a lot of parking spaces, the bad thing is that there's a lot of pot holes.
