You sit down, five of them pass you by, they don't even say hello, they don't ask you what you want, but in the meantime the older gentleman tries to throw passers-by in by showing them the menu.
Embarassing! Low quality mixed fried food, dry and pre-cooked for hours (if not days .. crazy prices for the quality and quantity offered.. €8, (yes 8! for a medium beer (0.4 L on tap. Apathetic staff.. Okay, we're in Portovenere...but doing all this without a balaclava is brave! Price per person: €20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
I honestly don't understand such negative reviews. We had a good time and ate very well at modest prices considering that we sat in the small square of one of the most beautiful places in the world. The mixed fried fish dish was plentiful and good, fried to perfection, the staff very friendly. The place is very suggestive with a beautiful view of the sea and the ancient entrance gate to the village. Obviously, since Porto Venere is overrun by tourists, the place is crowded and perhaps you have to wait a little longer for the food ordered to be prepared. But for us everything was excellent. Truly an insult to Italian cuisine! We took takeaway, a Portovenere sandwich which only had the tomato good in it, but what left us high and dry, in the sense that it was inedible, was the fried fish. €16 and I wouldn't even give it to my dogs. Let's not talk about the french fries! All this paid for €63 including 2 Spritz. Some thieves! Service: Take out Price per person: €30–40
