I know that in Italy sometimes you have to pay a cover charge, this is not a problem even if the tradition is lost. on the other hand paying 3 euros for my 2 year old daughter! I found it scandalous. the next evening my daughter didn't eat, she ate with us and this time too we paid 3 euros for the cover charge. This forced us to eat outside the hotel, where we paid for the covers but not our daughter... I am willing to pay but we must not deceive people. Having traveled a lot in Italy (Trentino, Piedmont, Lombardy, Puglia, Sicily, Emilia Romagna Veneto Rome... , I told myself that this was not normal I asked my Italian family and friends who live there, and they confirmed that this is not done.
