Belaggios Gelato - Pickering

I visited the shop for gelato and was pleasantly surprised to discover rice balls as well! It’s a charming little place with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I do wish the gelato cups were slightly larger for the price, but the flavors were still excellent. We tried the cherry cheesecake and birthday cake gelato, and both were delicious. The rice balls came with a side of marinara sauce, which was also really tasty. Our total for two medium gelatos and two cheese rice balls was around $24.

I really enjoy this place! Even when you opt for a small size, you can still mix different flavors, which is great. I tried the pistachio and hazelnut gelato, and it was absolutely delightful. I loved finding little bits of nuts in every few bites, as they added a nice texture. I'm definitely planning to return to try the tiramisu and Nutella flavors!

The tiramisu flavor wasn't my favorite; it had an odd chemical taste. However, I really enjoyed the mango flavor, which was both sour and sweet.

All the gelato is made in-house, which is a big plus! The shop is situated in a bustling strip mall and is very clean, with friendly service that makes you feel welcome. There is a great selection of flavors, and I was told they will have even more options available in the summer. I will definitely be returning as a repeat customer!

I visited this place specifically for the gelato, but I was disappointed with how it compared to a few years ago. While the prices are similar to those of gelato shops everywhere, I found it to be overpriced for the quality offered here. On a positive note, the staff was exceptionally friendly.
