Went on a Saturday night to celebrate our daughter's birthday. At $32/ head for the adults and half price for our 11 yr old, the bill came to $101 w/ tax
Went to the Mandarin for a birthday meal with the extended family. Arrived about 4:30 on a Tuesday. Seating was prompt. No lineup. Table service was very quick. The array of food was amazing. Not just "Chinese foods." Had not been to a Mandarin in about 8 years. Some subtle changes. People still toss coins into the fish pond. I was not disappointed. I was not able to sample most of the food. Not that hungry that night.Staff was very pleasant. I found the seating very cumbersome as the chair legs did not slide at all on the carpet. You almost had to be pried out of your seat to get to the food. Created a few awkward moments for the elderly folks.
A bunch of our Chartwell residents have been going here about once a month for several months now. We have enjoyed the food but have found that it is getting kind of expensive for we seniors to be able to afford. We may not be able to get a group together for future ventures. I have noticed that the water they serve, reminds me of swimming pool water, seems very chlorinated taste. Service is good for those items you need extra.
They try and jam as many people in as possible and the quality of the food is low- definitely not worth the money- also, too many kids
