Second Cup - Pickering

We have been coming to this restaurant for several years and have never been let down. The service is outstanding and the owner is very attentive, making sure all staff are well-trained. The menu offers a variety of fresh options, including muffins, loaves, and breakfast items. The drinks are also top-notch, comparable to those at Starbucks. The atmosphere is fantastic - quiet, spacious, and comfortable - making it a great spot for studying, reading, or catching up with friends. Overall, we highly recommend trying Second Cup Pickering!

This second cup is the worst I've been to. The owner and his wife are incredibly rude and disrespectful to not only customers but also their student employees. They constantly yell at the workers, causing some to cry. The drinks taste watered down, but the real issue is the behavior of the owners. It seems like they should have retired years ago as they ruin everyone else's day with their negative attitude.

Today, I was served by Sejal and she was absolutely terrible! She called me a complicated customer and had a bad attitude. She was unable to reverse the full charge for medium lattes and refused to honor the coupon I had on my phone for $2.95 lattes on Wednesdays. It took 20 minutes for the mistake to be corrected and we were still charged for the lattes. My family and I have been regular customers at this restaurant, spending between $1,200 and $1,500 a year on our usual large 1/2 sweet vanilla lattes two or three times a week. After this negative experience with Sejal, we will not be returning.

We have been coming here for several years, and are never disappointed. The service here is top notch, and the owner is very attentive and also trains staff extensively. The food is fresh and varied (muffins, loaves, breakfast food, for example) and the drinks are - the best! Everything they offer is as good as Starbucks drinks, and we have had most of their offerings. The atmosphere is excellent - quiet, spacious, comfortable, and conducive to study, reading or chatting. A bit on the outdated side and needs some renovations and extra electric outlets if you want to work but having said that I enjoy the service a lot and enjoy the atmosphere. Very friendly.
