The restaurant formerly known as Mesquite, now rebranded as Le Ambre, has undergone another transformation and is now called Grubz. However, the changes have resulted in a disappointing dining experience.
This restaurant allows you to bring your own wine. It's a go-to for us when we don't have the energy to cook. They serve dishes with an old-world flavor, just like the food my grandma used to make. What else is there to say...
Well this review took me one week today to decide to write.last Sunday was my daughters 18th birthday which was a very big deal for my family and her friends. We had a party of 45 people which ended up being 50 people.the restaurant allowed us to come early to set up her ballons and drop birthday cake. They were very accommodating and friendly. I arrived at the restaurant at 6:20pm reservation were for 6:30pm. My daughter would arrive 6:40pm because it was a surprise. At 6:40 the hostess approached me not even an introduction or name to who she was the first this she said your guess are arriving at 7:30 I heard. My reply was no but I am sure everyone will arrive shortly .then I was told my boss would be very upset if he was here. A little shocked considering I have done many birthday dinners at several restaurant and never been approach in such a manner after 10 minutes of arriving.i then said I can't control the guest arrival time but if all are not here we will star ordering around 7 pm. I mean after all it was a birthday dinner and a special occasion for my daughter who also is a Cancer survivor so you must understand this was a very happy day for us to celebrate.the guest who were present also wanted to greet my daughter not just sit down and order right away . By 7pm 46 out of 50 guest were present. We started ordering by 7:15 pm. Very pleased with our waiter who made us feel very welcomed.i was a little upset with the hostess approach I understand that the reservation was 6:30 I am very punctionual but I cant control 49 guest. I have never had an issue like this ever at any other restaurant so I was a little stressed . I had a few guess ask me if I was ok this was there first time at the restaurant for at least 40 of my guest.so the dinner went on the food was great everyone seemed to enjoy the evening . The hostess just kept looking at us from a distance. The food took about an hour which some thought was long but I explained that was to be expected with a big group and no special menu we ordered what ever we wanted on the menu.i felt rushed after the meal as it approach 10 pm people started to leave the bills were taking long to come so people started lining up at cash to pay which was a little crazy. One bill wasn't paid which we figured out it was a family member who rushed out due to baby being sick so I paid it with proper tip. Few days later I called Dave the owner to explain and right away I could tell his back was up and felt he was defensive.he complain about the students giving cheap tips and said people tried to leave without paying which was a lie . Yes maybe the 15 young people didn't tip as well as the adults but that's student on a budget out of my control. I know my family tipped very well.long storie short I wasn't happy with his attitude I told him I called you because I didn't want to write a review then he changed his tone thanking me for calling. That's why it took me a week to write this review why because it bothered me deeply . It would of been a perfect night if the hostess wasn't so stuck up excuse the expression. We were a group of good people who just wanted to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday and her anniversary of surviving cancer . It's to bad she couldn't of been a little more pleasant and count her blessing as we do everyday . Other than what I just wrote this restaurant would of been a perfect venue but I don't think I will ever return and most of my guess won't either.
We were 5 people for dinner at Vivaldi last Friday and we had a great experience.the service was perfect and the food was very good.the menu is varied . My husband had veal liver in a whine sauce that was very tasty and an rare find. This restaurant has a bring your own whine. The service from Jasmine was the best.
