Iper romantico......personale gentile, preparato e molto professionale. Cibo ottimo. Consigliato.
This is a delicious restaurant in the middle of Torre Paponi a small village near the coast. The location is beautiful and very suggestive. The menu is rich of traditional regional food, all vell cooked and very good tasting. Price is proportioned with the quality of food. I certainly will come back there at the next occasion.
Tucked away in small, somewhat frozen in time, hilly Torre Paponi was this restaurant; La Pignatta D'Oro. The town, interior, and ambience transport guests to the 1600s. We opted for the Menu Degustazione (tasting menu); Antipasto, Primo, Secondo Piatto, a choice dessert, caffè and digestivo. Not long since we sat down, typical bruschetta with speck was serve as a welcome dish. Soon thereafter, a trio of antipasti came. Everything was delicious but, for me, the smoked duck was exquisite. Of the two primi, the tagliolini was my favorite. It had the rabbit ragù. By this point, we were all full and yet still had the second plate and dessert coming our way. The steak and the lamb was as expected; high quality and absolutely divine. And, finally, most in our little group had the tortino, which they all swear was terrific. My daughter and I tried the pannacotta with pistachio. It came with some crunchy, crumbs of chocolates that balanced the soft pannacotta and a bit salty pistacchio sauce. The wine was from the region. Smooth tannins, on the nose dried berries, licorice, hint of rosemary. Suffice to say, five adults and 2 bottles. Definitely worth the drive up.
