I work in Aspinwall and was looking for west indian food to eat; similar to what I ate in NYC growing up. No one was behind the counter and this place could use a face lift aesthetically. The joyous images on the outside doesn't match the inside. I just walked out.
Food tasted good! Definitely more of a takeout place. They have two high tops where you could sit. We asked if it was spicy and they said that it was. But we found it to be somewhat spicy not overly spicy. The atmosphere kind of reminded me of some of the independent places I've been to in Jamaica. The chicken was cut in a similar way as they do in Jamaica right through the bones. The mac and cheese was unique and very good. It had some types of onions in it.
I gotta admit I have visited many Jamaican restaurants over the years and nothing comes as close to this one I literally had one of the best meals here I will most certainly come back.
Had the goat combo with peas and beans and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, and portions were enormous. Perfect birthday dinner. Be careful about their hours though; they were closing an hour and a half earlier than posted online when we got there. We were going to a brewery after so we just ate it there, but
