Whenever I go back, it feels like coming home. The food is always delicious, the service is excellent, and the renovations are impressive. My favorite meal to order is the spinach pie, falafel, and hummus, although the spinach and lentil soup and grape leaves are also delicious options. I highly recommend Ali Baba - I'm thrilled they were able to survive the pandemic.
The restaurant has recently been renovated and now features a charming new interior. The food was wonderful, particularly the hummus. The overall dining experience felt more genuine than other Middle Eastern restaurants in Pittsburgh. I am definitely looking forward to returning to try more items from their menu. The staff and owner were also very pleasant.
Such a cute restaurant! The employees were very kind and friendly- so wonderful to talk to! The food was delicious as well and we loved the aesthetic of the interior.
The first thing I felt walking in was the GREAT ENERGY there’s something unique about this place. I don’t know if it’s the natural light which fills up the place or the mosaic tiles that cover the bar, but it is definitely visually pleasing. Other than the fact that the food is excellent and beyond description, it is the staff what really makes the place stand out, they always do their best to provide great service (even when I ask them to substitute rice for mujadara). It is simply the best in Pittsburgh. I just hope they would open on Mondays.
We ordered hummus and French fries with the falafel sandwich and vegetable trio. Amazing food! Quick and friendly service! The food tasted amazing. I highly recommend. Great portions
