Ever since then, I find this guy wherever he posts up!! There's no taco in the city that I've found to be comparable to his. He sometimes has a special taco on the list like my favorite, the General Tso chicken tacos. Brilliant. When I bite into one of these It's just heavenly! My next favorite is the chicken with spicy avocado cream sauce. After that we have our basic beef taco which is far from basic. He gets his ground beef locally from Clarion farms beef barn which in my opinion makes all the difference in flavor. All the tacos are stellar. Just find this truck your belly will thank you!
This is another one of those places, that I 've eaten at several times, but never got around to reviewing. The PGH Taco Truck is undoubtedly one of the best taco trucks in the Greater Pittsburgh area. The food has always been incredible every time I 've eaten here. Whether it 's at a brewery (such as Helicon in Oakdale where I was yesterday), a local coffee shop, a food truck rally, or working on a local film or television set (this truck has made appearances in both the Outsiders and Gone television shows that were filmed in the Pittsburgh area) feeding the cast and crew, these tacos totally rock!!! The owner of the truck is really cool, and so is his family that work inside the truck with him. Awesome, locally-sourced ingredients, delicious, and all gluten-free .... Big Cheers!
Excellent tacos better than most if not all restaurants. You'd think $4 is pricey for a taco but they are meaty and full of goodness. I had the top seller spicy chicken and also the beef. The beef was my fave, two full you up nicely. As you check in to pgh taco truck, you are given a voucher for a free Mexican Coca Cola. WINNING! Def glad I decided to eat here at a local brewery rather than head elsewhere. One of my top local food trucks!
WOW. This truck is amazing! The first time I experienced a taco from here was pride this past year. Aj S. Ordered their beef taco and I ordered one of their vegan options. We were in love! I didn't see them again for have their food until last Wednesday, when I visited the brew gentlemen. Before even ordering a beer, I ordered a spicy jerk chicken taco and a Thai peanut chicken taco. My boyfriend ordered their beef taco and the spicy jerk taco as well. We were both in heaven! The avocado lime cream sauce on the spicy jerk chicken taco was insanely good and refreshing. I took a bite of the beef taco and couldn't believe how tasty the beef was! They season the meat perfectly. My favorite taco was the Thai peanut chicken taco with sweet chili slaw.. It was ridiculously good! The peanut sauce was amazing and the slaw was the perfect compliment! I loved this place so much that I immediately followed them on twitter and Instagram.. 4 days later, I drove 25 minutes completely out of my way , just to get some tacos! I had the Thai peanut one again and also ordered the general tso's chicken taco. I enjoyed the sauce on the general tso's chicken taco but overall, the Thai peanut is still my favorite! This truck is awesome! I can't wait to see where they will be next!
Have been a fan for years. Have not been to PghTT for a long time and was able to stop by recently. Remember when he was at the late Pittsburgh Market and the Coffee Buddha and few other places. Has been hard to track down recently. Anyway, stopped talked with James and had a few laughs along with some top notch tacos. $4 each or 3 for $10, so bring a friend and get 3 or eat to much. The Jerk Chicken and the Maple Pork we both very good and the Jerk Chicken definitely had a little heat. The taco shell is the double soft corn similar to the shells that most of the top taco stands use. The toppings are usually fresh and add some nice flavors. So if you are in the area that the PghTT has set up stop by and enjoy!
