Thaifoon Pittsburgh

The restaurant is fantastic! The food consistently tastes excellent, and they offer a wonderful variety. As a soup lover, I appreciate the many options available at ThaiFoon. Their tofu is amazing in all the soups—I always request it to be steamed rather than fried. The staff is always professional, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu, and they maintain a clean appearance. Moreover, the entire restaurant is well-kept. A real test of cleanliness for me is the state of the restrooms; if they are not clean and well-maintained, it’s a sign that the kitchen is likely the same way. ThaiFoon truly deserves every star!

I would rate this restaurant two stars, which feels a bit generous. The spring rolls were greasy, and the interior of the restaurant was cold. They replaced my first order with spring rolls that were in the same poor condition. On the positive side, the Pad Thai was at least served hot. The chicken was decent, but the sauce on the noodles was a brownish color, reminiscent of tomato sauce. I tried to improve it by adding extra chili oil, but it didn't make much difference. Unfortunately, this is not a place I would return to.

The food is surprisingly excellent; everything we've tried is rich in nuanced flavors.

Today I stopped for lunch after I made my hair next door. When I read the reviews, it seems to be under new management. It's my first time/experience there and I've always passed. So it could try. Dinner was moderate. Service might be better. My food lasted longer than it should be and it was not busy unless they have many takeouts, then I understand. My server was beautiful and attentive, but I think it's new? I threw a little on my table when I served and didn't have a notebook on her when I took my order, so I was worried when my design didn't come out earlier than expected. She also wore AirPods I think it's a bit unprofessional. Overall, I would like to give this place another chance and try something else on the menu. Sometimes you need to get the classics like Tom yum and Pad Thai????????

My sister and I met my cousin in Pittsburgh after over a decade and the three families decided to go here for dinner! Getting everyone aligned on going here took a bit of time and I called around 8 PM (they close at 9) to reserve a table for 12 at 8:30 PM! To my surprise they agreed to give us a table. Our whole party was seated at 8:30 PM and ALEXIS waited our table. In spite of the late reservation, she was sweet, friendly and patient with us. We made our best effort to efficiently place an order and the food started flowing in quickly. Portion sizes were good and all the food we ordered was delicious!! The Indonesian Fried Rice was the winner of that evening. Finally, Alexis took few pictures of the whole group and overall, it was a great experience. In spite of being a large party, making a reservation just before COB, on a Saturday night and, during the Jul 04 weekend, there were several things that could've gone wrong but Alexis was amazing. She gave us a great experience and made the evening memorable for us in the best way possible. Kudos to her and the team at ThaiFoon PGH!!
