Rum Bay - Placida

We've visited this restaurant a few times now, and every visit has been a wonderful experience for our family. Today, we went for a late lunch/early dinner and brought our boys along, who were experiencing it for the first time. The taxi boat ride is always a blast, and the Captain goes above and beyond to ensure we have a great time on the way over. Our server tonight, Melissa, was fantastic. We can be a bit much at times and tend to be louder than most, but always in a respectful way. Melissa was incredibly accommodating as we navigated our orders, and our drinks, appetizers, and food came out quickly. The food here is consistently well-prepared, and we truly appreciated the overall service. We made sure to give her a generous tip for being so patient with us...hahaha. In any case, we love making the trip to Rum Bay; it has always been a great experience for us, and we plan to return many more times. Thank you!

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and had a fantastic time. Our server, Melissa, was exceptional. We asked for drink recommendations, and they were spot on for our tastes. I ordered a delicious blackened mahi mahi sandwich, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we had a great experience!

I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. Dustin provided exceptional service, and the food was outstanding. The broccoli was cooked to perfection, and the butter for the bread was simply amazing.

Very disappointed with the food. It was terrible! Used the water taxi which cost $6.00 per person. Server has great, very friendly and informative. We ordered Mahi tacos. The tortilla was cold, dry and hard. Two Snappers were not fresh and fried in old oil reused. Both were dark inside and not flaky. Baked potato was over cooked and dry. Terrible, terrible. Don't let the pictures fool you, it's all about the taste and freshness of your food. Manager removed two drinks, one snapper and taco mahi mahi from the check.

Vacation Dinner our last evening in FL (10/10/21 We took a 60 sec. car ferry across the water to get to the restaurant (NOTE! We came in from the wrong direction, lol. However, the restaurant was great! Food was outstanding and plentiful. Not used to shrimp that meaty, tender and flavorful. Our waitress was beyond exceptional (Lauren? . Anyway.... don't miss a chance for some great food atmosphere in a great part of old Florida!!
