This place gives you that Mom and Pop vibes. Excellent food and even better service. This is my new breakfast spot for sure.
1st visit, but not our last. Dispite a slight mixup in our order that was quickly fixed, we will be back. Terrific bagels and good coffee.
Great food, tight squeeze but to go was perfect.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Recommended: Fine in a pinch.Overall: It's tough to find a good bagel in this area, so it's a okay option for a bagel and cream cheese--but skimpy breakfast sandwich.Snapshot: Food: 3/5 Drink: NA Vibe: Take out Service: 4/5 Family-Friendly: NAHighlights:-Perfect For: If you're craving a bagel in the Southington area-Bonus Tip: Ask for an extra egg on the breakfast sandwichAll The Details:In Connecticut, finding a decent bagel spot can be a challenge, so expectations have to be adjusted accordingly. Kettle Bagels is an okay choice, but their inconsistency is notable. I visited twice within a week, post-daycare drop-off, and both times my order was mixed up, requiring a return to the counter. They were nice about it at least. The Everything Bagels were a bit of a letdown. The first visit, they were overloaded with onion pieces to the point of being nearly inedible. The second time was better, but the bagel still lacked salt, tasting bland and doughy. Also, the breakfast sandwich was notably scant on meat and egg, as seen in my photo. Next time, I'd definitely need to double up on egg and meat.I've been told I'm a bit of a bagel snob, and perhaps my standards are high, but the inconsistency and incorrect orders were disappointing. That said, compared to other local options that taste more like bagel-shaped bread, Kettle Bagels at least offers something closer to a real bagel. I'd consider giving them another shot if I was in a bind, but it's not a place I'll actively seek out or recommend.
