The Roots Hotel Wine Bar in Plovdiv was a great experience for us. Miko is a gracious host and made us feel like we were a family. From the time he called us to make sure that we knew how to go there to his welcoming attitude and helpful suggestions where to go and what to do during our 3 days stay. We went with breakfast included option that was made fresh to order every morning. Lattes, homemade pastries and eggs as you like were always a great start in our day. His restaurant and bar suggestions were on site. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend staying friends and family here. We were here in August '19. Mitko went out his way to ensure our comfort, including deliveries, room temperature, food / breakfast, directions, maps, helps us with the bus reservations to Sofia, and many other information. He shared a wealth of information with us to make our 3-day trip extremely comfortable and pleasant. Let me say this: Plovdiv is the cultural capital of Eastern Europe, and Mitko and his hospitality are representative of the best of the best in Plovdiv. If you get a chance to go to Plovdiv, I recommend you stay at The Roots Hotel and Wine Bar!

We had a fantastic time in this small (6 room) hotel. It is well located, with spacious rooms, but the best is Mitka, the owner who is a sommelier and amazing cook. With all means, choose his breakfast and if you want a real treat, ask him to cook dinner for you. It is great to relax after a day of sightseeing with a glass of excellent wine, and Mitka is a lovely person to chat and laugh with. If you enjoy good food and wine, as well as personal interactions when you travel, you will not find a better place to stay in Bulgaria.

Mitko, the owner, is such a nice guy that helps you from the very first moment you make the reservation. The food is great and personalized. He is a great somelier also, so you can enjoy the bulgarian wines. He has always a good recommendation for you that goes fine with the dinner. And, least but not last, he gives you good advice on what to visit in the city and the surrondings. The rooms? It doesn't matter, but they are spot and confortable.
