I made an online reservation through OpenTable for a party of 6 at Arugula on Bridge Ave last Saturday night. I was aware that Arugula has another location at the White Sands Hotel in Point Pleasant Beach, but we prefer the Bridge Ave location. I received a confirmation for the Bridge Ave location, but when we arrived just before our 7 pm reservation, the restaurant was closed. It was disappointing and annoying to not have a dinner reservation on a Saturday night in July at the shore. I will think twice before using OpenTable again.
The restaurant on Bridge Avenue was closed, so I did not have the opportunity to visit the other location at White Sands. OpenTable should update their site to remove this closed location.
Incredible meal! I am not a salmon lover but decided to try their medallions of salmon in a pernod sauce. Best salmon I have ever had out in a restaurant!
We walked in, went up to the girls behind the counter, said we had a reservation for 2 6:45. Our names were in the book, no problems since we were the only people in the restaurant we had a choice of any table we wanted, which great. The girls, Louise Amanda were so friendly, personable, eager to help us w/ deciding off the menu. The one downside was limited soda choices. Second, they did not have frog legs, bc they were out, ONLY bc they like to use the freshest ingredients the frog legs were not up to the chefs standards. For appetizer we started off w/ Arugula's clam special which was OMG delicious! Flavorful not salty. None of the food was salty, a huge in our book. So, if u like salty, this is not the place for you. The second appetizer was Tuna Tartare which was presented so beautifully. The flavors of the tuna, fruit, homemade pesto were to die for. Then came salad, which was a little too vinegary, but still delicious bc of the fresh julienned apples-which were a fantastic palate cleanser. Time for the main course-I chose the Lobster-2 lobster tails out of the shell over bucatini pasta w/ baby scallops in a delectable subtle vanilla sauce-heaven in my mouth. My husband chose Tiger Shrimp over rigatoni in a red sauce. The shrimp were big juicy. The sauce was smooth flavorful. We were full therefore did not order desert, but the deserts sure sounded good. Overall, our experience was excellent would recommend Arugula. BYOB
