Feedback gevenWe had a fantastic dining experience last night at The Guest House, very impressed!!The service really stood out: we were welcomed by all staff and the table service was both friendly and attentive.Couldn't fault any of the food: shared cured salmon for entree and had the pork and lamb for mains. Lamb two ways in the main course was particularly delicious! Was also delighted with the complimentary breads, olives, crackling and smoked trout dip...Only wish we could have stayed for desert!Only feed back was that it wasn't such traditional Italian, yet delicious all the same. May be our new regular!
Our group of 6 ladies had booked in for a high tea on our reunion weekend. The setting and venue were gorgeous and we were welcomed by the staff. We started with a refreshing blended iced tea before enjoying the delicious assortment of sweet and savoury delights. All in all an enjoyable experience.Unfortunately we received a batch of undercooked heavy (sweet) scones. Whilst they were graciously replaced with a fresh batch the next batch tasted a bit bitter? We were not asked if we would like to order alcohol and the music was a little on the heavy side for a relaxing midday dining experience.
We had dinner at Chez Pok as we were staying at the Guest House. Just as well we decided not to have an entree as we were provided with bread rolls, bread sticks with seafood mousse, selection of olives and pork crackling. Our choice of 12 hour cooked lamb shoulder was divine, served with green beans, peas and feta and chat potatoes. The lamb just melted in your mouth and there was so much of it we brought some home! No room for dessert. Breakfast was equally as good, in fact on Monday as there were not many people in the restaurant we were given an a la carte menu to choose from. Excellent service, friendly and informative staff.
A lovely venue, but only one vegetarian main on the menu. We would have appreciated a choice. The waitress said that they have very few vegetarian guests, and that the chef does not provide any options for vegetarians apart from the single main dish on the menu. This was a great shame as it would have been nice to eat where we were staying.
We had lunch at Chez Pok which has now changed its format to being a genuine Italian restaurant.The food was nothing short of sensational - the stand out dish being the Lobster Tortellini which is available as an entree or main course - definitely next time it will be the main course.The atmosphere of the restaurant is very welcoming with new decor and a special mention must be made of Darcie who is the Restaurant Supervisor who made us feel very, very welcome and her attention to detail was nothing short of the highest professionalism. Well done Darcie and congratulations to the kitchen for turning out such superb, authentic Italian food! Thank you and we will see you soon!
