I had to pace myself as there are 6 antipasti and then pasta and 2 meat courses followed by 2 dolci. The house wine was superb and each course exquisite. The guest accommodation adjoining is excellent value and the rooms are totally charming. What a wonderful find!
We stayed in the B and B attached to this delightful family restaurant by chance, as we needed to stop for a rest not too far from the motorway when travelling from Italy to Mont Blanc. It is in a thinly village, with no alternative options for eating unless one returns down the mountain to Biella, so we booked in for dinner as well as for the night. Very tired, we were not sure we wanted to wait till 8pm for dinner, but are SO glad that we did! The entire establishment is run by a lady (also the chef) and her two daughters. The meal had a fixed menu, with a number of delicious home-cooked antipasti, even more mouth-watering pasta with asparagus, and for those still hungry, a choice of two meat dishes (which looked and smelled heavenly, but which we did not try). Then home made tart and a delicious homemade almond shortbread to fill up any remaining cracks. All washed down with a pitcher of local lightly frizzante white wine. If ever we are back that way, we will make sure to stop again.
