At Kellogg Ranch - Pomona

This restaurant is truly a local gem. The menu is always evolving with the seasons, featuring ingredients from Kellogg's farm, as well as beers and wines from the campus brewery, creating a genuine farm-to-table experience. The R@KR offers an incredible value for a beautifully prepared meal, complete with impeccable service, all in an elegant setting. I would love to elaborate on my meal, but since the menu changes frequently, I can only say it was delicious. I also make it a point to try every dessert, but in my excitement, I forgot to take pictures of them. They are only open on select days, so be sure to check ahead of time; reservations are required!

The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, and all the staff are students from a hospitality school who truly strive to provide excellent service. The view is stunning, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows on one side. The food selection is somewhat limited, but it's reasonably good for the price. There aren't many options for substitutions since the chefs are also students. I suggest trying the burger, even though it’s typically cooked well.

I visited the restaurant hoping to meet the chef, but I discovered he is already retired. The menu seems to change quite frequently. We both ordered steak, but there was only one type available, accompanied by a generous serving of French fries. We were both taken aback by this. I can understand why some friends might express disappointment. The flavors leaned more towards Mexican cuisine. However, the atmosphere here is very peaceful and enjoyable. Thank you!

Making reservations was very easy, they also sent a confirmation email the day before. Location is beautiful and the servers were very attentive and friendly. The prices were facing the higher end and the food needed some time to get out, but it was worth waiting. Everything was delicious and serving size was more than reasonable. Would definitely recommend!

Pretty decent and creative dinner for $35, at this time. It includes appetizer, entree, and desert. This restaurant is managed by students in most aspects and is on the hilltop of the Cal Poly, Pomona campus. Side note: The Cal Poly Pomona 2016 Zinfandel that they currently serve there is pretty good. It's more of a red wine than the usual pink wine one would expect.
