Il Greco - POMPEI

We stayed in a hotel near to this restaurant and had dinner few times. They have many choices of pizza and other non Italian dishes at reasonable prices. Nice sitting area and friendly staff. Highly recommend in case you're nearby

We were in Pompei for one night a bit tired of pizza/pasta we picked Greco. The food was very good (we shared the dish with Greek lasagna, pork (amazing) and Greek salad. My son had the burger with French fries on top. Service was a bit slow but acceptable. We sat on the patio where a lot of people were smoking.

We made the mistake of eating after we stopped here for a drink. The starters of fritti misti were straight out of Iceland's freezer and of really poor quality however this didn't ready us for the worst pizzas available possibly anywhere in the world. Also service stopped when all of the staff sat in the restaurant for their tea so no drinks for 20 minutes. Loud europop music blared out so I would say this is a bar/club for younger less discerning patrons and not a restaurant, not even close.

I was part of a group of students studying in Italy for a month last spring. We spent a week in Pompeii staying at the Hotel dei Misteri, and on our first night our concierge directed us to Il Greco. We went to the bar almost every night we were there and it was great. Not many tourists go there so bring your phrasebook, but it was a really good time. Good service, fun entertainment which included a singer one night and MTV on a large projection screen another. There is a cover charge but it is not bad and the prices are all reasonable. If you go, say hi to Silvio and Walter (I think is his name) and they will treat you like family, like all good Italians, especially in the south.

My wife and I visited this facility many years ago. For some reason, I remembered. A great tour through Italy. This café turned out to be the best pizza in the country for our taste. And the whole irony is that the restaurant belongs to a Greek, a girl from South America works in the kitchen, and a girl from Ukraine works in the hall. We sit, discuss the menu, and she comes to us yes, take pizza, we have it well in fact, it turned out to be excellent! We had a nice conversation with people, the owner treated us to Grappa, shared almost as friends. It came out hearty. Of course, many years have passed, but I hope the guys do well and I can recommend this place.
