Hotel le Relais de Beaulieu

Invited for lunch on our way home from a holiday in the Vendée. You can always tell a good relay about the number of trucks and white vans in the parking lot. It's busy very quickly. The starter is a cold buffet;... an excellent selection of cold meat, seafood and salads. A carafe of wine, red, white or rosé or cider, lemonade and water is included in the price. There is a selection of 4 main courses, including a fish option. It follows a cheese course, dessert and coffee. We were filled when we were gone. All for only € 12,50 each. The staff was friendly, helpful and super efficient. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

This typical restaurant Routier would be called a truck stop in the USA. But what a difference – from the warm welcome at the bar, where you pay before your meal (11 Euro plus 1 Euro for coffee), to the many possibilities of starters at the buffet,...and the efficient, cheerful service--- They won't be disappointed. Our six-headed party arrived at 1230 and hit the buffet, which included cold cooked shrimp, a pate de champagne, pork rillettes, several different pasta salads, hard boiled eggs, greens and much more. The waitress came to ask what we had to drink and was back shortly with a liter of red wine and a carafe of water. When we ordered our main course, a few of the choices were sold out, but we were still able to choose between cut tongue, fish and cut turkey breast plus your choice of frits, peas or rice. It followed a cheese course and several options for dessert. In view of the quality and quantity of food, the Routiers are one of the great offers in France - and of course also the choice of many truckers. A popular Routier is always a sign of a good meal to come.

We have dined here on Tuesday night as the Clos de Melanie was closed, although it should be open [Black Mark]. We were not disappointed. Although this relay primarily offers for Les Routiers, we have an amazing experience. On arrival we were met with a posse of the French army carrying their weapons!, then there was a detachment of the Sapeurs Pompiers from Paris and finally a brigade of the Gendamerie. They are all in convoy towards Pontchateau at 21:00. But back to dinner: the first course was a Help Yourself Buffet that would have been enough alone. The second choice was the choice of fish, beef or pork. The third course was a good part of three cheeses, and the last course was the desert, the Salad de Fruite and Tarte au Pommes among several. a 1 2 liter of wine or water or a bottle of beer was included in the price of 14 euros. The buffet was really good, the main course appropriate and the tart super as expected. Very recommended. Only one point, the ladies were numbered around 200!!!! Don't let all trucks drop off, you'll have a very good meal at a reasonable price.

Troisième passage et toujours aussi bien.Un accueil souriant, un service dynamique, une formule à 11€ imbattable.Toujours le même principe, on commande et on paye le repas et le café au bar.Le buffet des entrées est géant avec des salades (6-8 sortes différentes), de la charcuterie, des patés, des crevettes, bulots, surimi, de la mayo maison, du melon et j'en passe. 3 plats proposés (dont un poisson) avec 4 accompagnements possibles. Mon poisson était top avec une bonne petite sauce aux câpres. Plateau de fromages à volonté, un choix important de dessert, mon bavarois à la framboise était très très bon. Pour la boisson, là encore du choix, vin rouge, rosé, cidre, jus de pomme, eau plate, eau gazeuse.Le café à 1€, qui dit mieux :).Les toilettes sont propres avec un coin pour changer les bébés. D'ailleurs non loin de nous une famille avec un jeune enfant a été très bien accueilli. Chaise enfant à disposition, la serveuse a proposé de réchauffer un petit pot au besoin...Voilà, donc une valeur sûre en ce qui me concerne et un lieu incontournable sur le trajet de mes vacances.
