I went to this restaurant with my wife thinking to have a great dinner in a nice place, the room was cold and very small, service was slow motion and food the Rachlet very poor for the requested amount of money! I do not suggest this restaurant in Pontresina to anybody! Sorry but it is the true!
One of our favourite hangouts in Pontresina is the sun terrace of Hotel Saratz. It has great views of the Roseg Valley and surrounding mountains and has a great sun exposure. You can enjoy a cup of coffee or have a wine and just enjoy the views. But they also do the best steak tartare in the whole Engadin. We particularly like the service by Herr Patrick, who is friendly, has a great memory and always acknowledges us for our return custom. He also knows his wines and cocktails.
The hotel Saratz is very smart and elegant. It has a great terrace with southern exposure and a fantastic view of the Roseg Tal and the glacier. The lobby bar serves drinks and foods here under supervision of Patrick, who is a great host. The menu has a few cod and warm dishes and there are always a few freshly baked cakes and sweets. The food is elegantly presented and tastes great.
Every Thursday the bar offers a live rock band. Good music, nice atmosphere and interesting people. Easy access, as it is in the centre of Pontresina Nice place.
