I visited this restaurant for the first time for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. They serve a variety of dishes made with local produce and everything is homemade. I tried their giant toasted focaccia which was delicious and the coffee was excellent as well. I highly recommend this place.
I never really noticed this restaurant because it's located near Target, but I quickly became a fan. The menu is excellent and I especially enjoyed the cake selection. My mom, who is a local, always frequents this place, even though I couldn't understand why she didn't choose Little Larder or Origin, which are two of my favorite places. Now I understand why. They offer a wide range of gourmet locally sourced products. The British woman who works there is very friendly and accommodating. I'm surprised that this restaurant doesn't have a higher rating, as it's better than some of the more popular places in town.
I recently dined at Taste in Port Douglas and was thrilled with the delicious food and friendly staff. As a coeliac, I was pleased to find that this restaurant came highly recommended by a coeliac Facebook group. The staff were extremely accommodating and knowledgeable about coeliac needs, including cross contamination concerns. They even advised me on which menu items were safe to eat, such as avoiding chips cooked in the same oil as gluten-containing foods. The chef went above and beyond to prepare my meal on clean equipment to reduce the risk of cross contamination. It was such a relief to enjoy a burger without worrying about getting sick. My non-coeliac friend also raved about the food. I wish I could bring Taste home with me! Whether you have dietary restrictions or not, this restaurant is a must-visit in Port Douglas. Many thanks to the staff at Taste for a wonderful dining experience. I will definitely be recommending it to both my coeliac and non-coeliac friends.
Taste on Macrossan is a cool spot for yummy coffee and lunch. Breakfast and lunch menu has numerous gluten free options. I enjoyed happy eggs on toast also a local Skybury Coffee. A nice friendly atmosphere with funky recycled table tops.
