Beach House - Port Macquarie

We enjoyed an evening meal at the hotel over looking the water and the weather was just superb ,winter time and did not need any winter woolies thoughouly enjoyed the sun set

This place is the local pub in the heart of the city. A decent sports area with a good sized screen. Also 2 pool tables to enjoy.

The motel I was at recommended this place to eat, great food good servings good prices, the chicken schnitzel was excellent highly recommend it

We stayed overnight on a Monday night, we had an online booking for a double room but ended up with a friend travelling with us, I phoned the hotel and the manager happily switched our room to a triple room that was available, we arrived late (11:30pm) we could still check in and get our key and the staff were friendly. The room was quiet small (we had a basic room) Beds were slightly uncomfortable but not as to so you couldn't sleep. A downfall was the showers (shared bathrooms) when we showered the next morning at 8am had hardly any hot water. Basically only had the hot water tap on the whole duration.

My wife and I called in for a nightcap last night after a cruise on the river. The security person at the door (he looked about 18) refused us entry, I can only assume because of our age (I am a young 61). He demanded to know how many standard drinks I had had and I calculated about six over five hours - I would have almost been within legal driving limits. He then refused us entry. I know security is essential for the safety of patrons but I do object when decisions are made for me by a band of Nazi-like powermongers. Not impressed! (We then walked further up the road to a bar&grill where, needless to say, we were welcomed with open arms!)
