Hastings Coffee Co. - Port Macquarie

Love the decor, amazing special treats to choose from with coffee and great views. Went with a large group of friends for a coffee catch-up, plenty of room and nice relaxing atmosphere and not loud like some other cafes. Will definitely be coming back.

Arrived at 8.00am for breakfast with my wife and 1 year old. There was only 2 other couples there. Handful of takeaway coffees. My wife order smashed avocado feta on sourdough. I got the muesli and hash browns. The chef rung the bell 4 times for the staff to deliver the meals. The staff were too interest in showing each other things on their mobiles and chatting. The chef was quite annoyed.Wife was happy with her meal. Mine was pretty average. Small amount of yoghurt. I had to go back and order another side of yoghurt ($3.90). Now this took over 15 minutes with no other food orders in the kitchen. Wait staff apologised for the delay stating she thought the other waiter had delivered the yoghurt. The handmade hash browns were nice.

Great looking venue & the Westport Club has spent a lot of money on refurbishment.Went last night....Thursday... unaware it was special $ draw night very busyThat was ok found a table and placed order young waitress very efficient. This is casual eating at a Club.....so why so expensive?!?Pasta with prawn $20 would be ok if there was a quantity of prawn but my 6 small pieces would have been lucky to be 2 king'sOther 2pax had burgers2 glasses of wine& coke $83YES it was packed with people trying to win $34K should have taken more notice of the 2 men having a pot of tea each , holding up a table for 2 hours perhaps aware of high prices????

I have always enjoyed having lunch at this restaurant. However, I was disappointed with the recent menu change. The Asian chicken with noodles was dry and overcooked, and the noodles seemed stale. The loaded fries were greasy and lacked flavor. It was a disappointing experience. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the coffee is great.

I paid $24 for a small portion of chips and salt and pepper squid. I was disappointed with the serving size. I usually only buy coffee here, but after this experience, I won't even do that. I wanted to support a local business, but this felt like a rip-off.
