Chef very kindly made an off menu soft shelled crab burger that was so very delicious! Ambience was lovely and the service was good. Will definitely be returning.
What a lovely place to have a lazy weekend brunch. Set in an open area next to the Hastings river, the atmosphere was vibrant and relaxed. I had the good old eggs benedict and it was delicious. The bacon was very tender and pleasant to chew; it went very well with the eggs and hollandaise sauce. Coffee was a little bitter but better with some sugar. Would definitely return on another sunny morning!
Waterside Dining. A visit to Rivermark cafe was a pleasant experience beside the bumpy beginnings. The cafe is on the banks of the Hastings river it 's a large space with a metal stone floor. The carport style covered seating area is basic but a lovely place to sit and watch the river with it 's bird life and boats cruising by. It 's very busy on a Friday during the school holidays in January. We were told at first that they had no tables and unless we sat inside or came back another time we may be out of luck, so we insisted on waiting in the inside 'dining room ' till a table became available. Before we could even pour ourselves some water there was a table and several more besides. The very young staff are well mannered but inexperienced. We choose from the varied menu from things like salads, 17) schnitzel wraps 16.50), burgers 17) and seafood <br/ from 23). There is nothing ground breaking or different but the food is well presented and fresh. There is a good choice in wines by the bottle and glass at reasonable prices fr 7 a glass). There is very little service as you order from the front counter. The seafood is well cooked and pleasant but frozen. Mango puree features heavily on the menu and may be a summer inspiration, regardless this is a relaxing restaurant with a great outlook.
Rivermark Cafe is on the banks of the Hastings River. There are tourist boats, Pelicans landing with the grace of a Concord and speedboats whizzing by as we sit in a kind of
