Charlie's Mexican Restaurant

In the past, we used to enjoy dining at Charlie's Cafe. The food was delicious and the owner was very friendly. However, about 3 to 5 years ago, my partner and I visited for my birthday and decided to have Mexican food. While Charlie was still friendly, the food was disappointing. Last week, we decided to give it another try for dinner. Sadly, Charlie seemed to have lost his friendly demeanor. The food, while not as bad as our last visit, was still underwhelming. It was bland, tasteless, and unimpressive in portion size. It's no surprise that we were the only customers in the restaurant on a Tuesday night.

I ordered the shrimp quesadilla. Every bite was filled with flavorful, juicy pieces of shrimp. I left the restaurant feeling extremely satisfied and couldn't stop thinking about how delicious the food was.

Charlie is great and I know that some people have complained about portion size and the temperature of the food, but I never had this problem here! charlie is one of the waiters and he is always friendly and funny. the portion sizes are actually a very good. size for what it is, I am always full or never to end my eating when I am here. depending on which time they go and when, the restaurant does busy and the waiting times are quite long. the only tip I can give them is that this is still a local restaurant and not a chain, so it does not work the same. have geduld!

I love this place, the owner is the waiter and the woman is the chief. service can be slow, but eating is good.

When Charlie's opened back in the mid 1990s the food was fantastic. Over the years I've been there numerous times and made a point of taking out of town visitors for a great meal. The last time we were there the food was barely edible....I don't know what changed but you can rest assured that Charlie's is NOT what it once was.
