Last Resort - Port Orange

The people here are great. I wish I could have spoken to the owner who knew Aileen, but he seemed pretty busy. I found it really impressive that he allows people in need to stay in campers. There’s a lot going on here, and I truly enjoyed my time.

This is a really cool biker bar with plenty to check out. The owner has a great eye for collecting unique items and is very friendly. It’s also a filming location for the movie "Monster," featuring Charlize Theron as Aileen Wuornos. This bar was frequently visited by Aileen in real life, and there are many memories and artifacts related to her here. It's worth respecting the significance of this place, as it was where Aileen had her last beer before being arrested for the murders of several men in Florida.

This restaurant is a MUST visit! Al, the owner, and Ell were wonderful to talk to. I was the only customer at the time, which made for a unique experience. The beer was just $3 and served cold. There were so many interesting items to explore! Ell gave an excellent tour and shared the history of both the restaurant and Aileen Wournos. The Ghostbusters car and various displays were a fantastic addition! I can only imagine how amazing this place is! It's definitely unforgettable!

Al Bulling is a great person to sit with and enjoy stories of Bike Weekes gone by. He has a terrific memory and a sunny positive take on old friends and the old days. I Highly recommend The Last Resort and owner Al as a great part of the local color and biker culture. Don't miss it!

The Last Resort is famous because of Aileen Wuornos, but it's the epitome of a good old dive bar. There's stuff everywhere. Not an inch of wall space or floor space to be had. The owner will try and sell you a shirt or a hoodie. Hes a nice guy though. If you are in the area, and have seen the movie Monster, you should stop in. Its definitely unique.
