It was mid afternoon on a cool afternoon when we arrived at Coopers; too late for lunch, but too early for dinner. We scanned the menu of fairly traditional road side restaurant fare until our eyes caught the entry for the "Truckers Special" available in small and large sizes. What followed from the kitchen were enormous servings of soul food consisting of ground beef, french fries, gravy and grated cheese. A very memorable and long lasting meal to say the least.
I spoke with the server and confirmed that the restaurant has been The Galley for over a year now. Trip Advisor, please update your information. This is a spacious family-friendly restaurant that serves typical family-style dishes. I ordered the Pork Chops and they were delicious. While it may not be a high-end dining option, it offers a good value for a satisfying dinner.
I had a hard time locating this place in order to write a review. The owners should update their information so that people can easily review their restaurant. The food is homemade and fantastic, with the best pea soup and dumplings I've ever had. The club sandwich is also great, made with fresh, unprocessed meats like ham, roast, turkey, and bacon. I would definitely eat here again and recommend anyone passing by to stop in and experience the delicious food and excellent service.
Excellent fish and chips, pea soup and hot turkey sandwiches. Basic food - good value. Great option in this area for hearty food.
