Larrys Family Uvongo - Port Shepstone

Originally we ordered breakfast,which closes 12h00. Only to be told that they have no more ingredients to make breakfast due to the two public holidays. So we ordered something else. Overall good vibe.Place was cooking. Food was ok. My Hake chips were tasty. My partners had burgers.Which they enjoyed. Chips are nice rustic.

The view is spectacular. This restaurant has the most beautiful location in Uvongo...the view is breathtaking while you enjoy your meal. The restaurant is huge and the tables are well spaced out. Friendly staff. Clean and neat. Well presented meals, very well priced.

Extremely racist environment. No waiters were to be seen as we entered. We had to seat ourselves. Waiters only noticed us after 20 minutes to hand us a menu, which at this point I told my partner I want to leave as we were being completely ignored but he insisted that we stay, waiters kept walking by us but nobody stopped. There were plenty staff working and the restaurant was not very busy...this makes me believe that an issue of racism is at play. Staff were entertaining white customers and ignoring us people of colour... When we questioned a waiter about this... We were told that the group of customers being entertained were good friends of the waiters. I witnessed white waiters dealing with orders, bringing our food and drinks and clearing out tables, thereafter a person of colour came out to wipe down the tables. If you're a white person I highly suggest u going to this place because you will get top priority but if you are a person of colour I seriously do not recommend putting yourself through the amount of pain I felt being at this restaurant. We had foods that were fried and it was extremely oily and seemed as if it was not well drained.

The Larrys Family Restaurant is a place where you can experience the true spirit of the South Coast. The food was delicious and at a very reasonable price. The service was excellent and the safety parks for us were excellent.

Larry's family restaurant is a great restaurant. Very busy!!! Food fantastic!!! Can see people love this restaurant. The view of the sea is beautiful!!!! Love to eat in Larry's. Recommend this restaurant at any time.
