Bab El Salam - Portage

The food and service are outstanding. Every time I bring a friend to Bab El Salam, they start off skeptical about Middle Eastern cuisine, but they leave absolutely loving it. I am particularly fond of the lentil soup; it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. Additionally, Amo Mazen is a fantastic host.

Last night, our family drove 45 minutes to one of our favorite restaurants. Mazen and the staff are consistently warm and welcoming. Since we had too many people to dine inside, we decided to enjoy our meal in the gazebo on a beautiful evening. As always, the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Thank you for making our family outing a wonderful experience!

The hummus here is the best, and the food is fantastic! Amo Mazen is an exceptionally kind and hardworking owner. His commitment to serving delicious food and ensuring customer satisfaction shines through in his restaurant. We order takeout from here regularly, about 1-2 times a week. Give it a try—you won’t regret it!

We love this restaurant, Amo Mazen, and the staff here at this establishment are the friendliest, gracious, most accommodating, and humble people that you will ever meet. The minute you walk in the door, you become part of their family forever. The food is outstanding! We've NEVER had a bad meal in all the times we have been here. There is also a store that sells a great variety of Mediterranean items, the cookies are worth a try too! We try to visit at least once a week even though we live at least a 45 minute drive away from the restaurant. It is definitely worth the drive no matter how far away you are. We love you all!!
