The Corner Pocket - Portage

Popped in while in the area. Ordered bloodies and food. The **** was fantastic, love that you get bacon, cheese curds, beef stick along with the standard garnish Yum? I did the Buffalo Chicken wrap with fries. The hubby did the black n blue burger (can't remember name) The wrap was ok, wish there was more lettuce n the tomatoes seemed mushy? I'm picky on wraps in that I wish more places mixed ingredients rather than layer. There were random chuncks of blue cheese, which I love, but if all mixed i think the wrap would be better. Hubby loved the burger and their fries ? are the best ever!!! Shout out to the sweet lady working, she was so busy but made sure you were doing good. You were amazing. Look fwd to coming back.

1873 was a great experience. We walked in and went straight to the bar and sat down and from that moment on we were treated like we were regulars there. Very friendly and funny staff. Got our drinks and they were good. The menu was neat to look at with how it was tied into the history of the building. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Could have stayed there longer but we were just passing through on to our next destination. I definitely want to stop in again and try a few other things on the menu. Place was very clean and inviting. Once again a great experience.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly. The food is good too. Well located on main st in downtown Portage WI. Of course on the corner that's how it got its name. I would recommend it to anyone.

This little place is a gem. Google pointed us to a place called Corner Pocket on a 'food near me ' search, and after driving around the block once, we recognized the building from the pics online, saw it was called 1873 Grill and went on in. Service was stellar, food was delicious, and the owner, who was rocking and rolling in there serving our table, several bar guests, and cooking any food ordered was as friendly as can be. I have no doubt the rest of the food on the menu is as delicious as my buffalo smoked chicken wrap was.

Great place, was an old drugstore when I was a kid. Try the cordon blue wrap,, it was excellent.Place is neat, clean and service was okay. Currently known as 1873 grille, after a recent name change.
