Restaurant Bar Sol - Portimão

Great food, great service. this restaurant has been taken over recently and is a little up market now but still great prices. i would forget the bad reviews and give it a try. The steak on the hot stone was really nice. They do cater for gluten free. The staff were friendly and good sense of humour.

Food was lovely, visited here twice during our stay. Menu was reasonably priced. Fresh food. Staff were helpful and curteous.

We had lunch at this restaurant on a family night out. The bill was around 40 euros and we left a tip higher than 15%!!! The food is decent, not great, slightly overpriced, however the waiting time was horrendous even if the restaurant was nearly empty. The following night we already had the meal in a different place, but being out for a walk my wife said that we could stop here again to grab some drinks. It was Wednesday night and the restaurant was nearly empty again. We’ve found a table, the waiter from the other day man around 60 yrs old with glassses immediately recognised us and came with the menu. We told him that we will only have some drinks for the moment and we will see later how the night proceeds. And this is when things get interesting. Hearing this the waiter replied that we can’t sit at the table if we are only having drinks because the restaurant will get busy later. Why should I care about this?am I paying with Monopoly money? anyway, after bargaining a little he told us that he will make an exception for us and took our order. But only if we drink quick and don’t stay a lot at the table. Fast forward 30 mins later with a nearly empty restaurant and the **** drinks were not yet on the table so we decided to leave. Terrible customer service and terrible personnel. If the above is company policy, shame on you, I hope you get bankrupt. If it was only the waiter strategy to make us spend more, I only hope that you will be left unemployed. Terrible, will never come back again

The food was awful. Just awful. My meal was supposed to be grilled sea bass but I don’t know what it was other than gross.

Ate here three times during our weeks stay. Food was always great and reasonably priced. Service was speedy and very friendly. We always had traditional Portuguese cuisine and it was extremely tasty. My partner especially enjoyed the Octopus.
