Even my friend, who doesn't usually enjoy sweet dishes, loves everything that is served at this restaurant because the flavors are so well-balanced. Every item on the menu is fantastic, and their cocktails are especially incredible. We wish we could eat here every night, but it would get too expensive.
This restaurant is amazing. The food, the ambiance, the staff - everything is top-notch. I couldn't help but chuckle at the few negative reviews I came across, those people must be unhappy with everything in life. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. This is definitely one of my go-to spots and I highly recommend dining here or taking someone special out for a meal. I'd say, give it a try for yourself.
Baharat is incredible. The seating is comfortable, the service is professional and efficient, and the food is exquisite. The flavors are vibrant and unique, at least to my taste buds, and the dishes are beautifully presented. When they say a dish is hot, believe them. We love spicy food, so the fried cauliflower was a favorite. And let's not forget about the drink selection, which was perfect for everyone. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. Please consider opening another location in midcoast Maine. We need you!
Baharat in portland – my new favourite restaurant. eating is extraordinary. very authentic Middle Eastern and South Asian aromen on the foundation, with much creativity on the summit, expertly prepared. the ambiente is ultra modern and well designed, table setting was a great mix of functionality and beauty. just 5 stars.
HALAL item is the chicken ONLY. The host who seated us wasn’t even aware that they served halal chicken. Being from NYC you tend to have high expectations for Mediterranean food. For starters we had the pickle plate and the hummus with the Iraqi bread. As the pickle plate and the Iraqi bread were delicious the hummus was bland and watered down. The non alcoholic drink we tried was called “My Point Being” which was very sour and had to be sent back. For the entree we had the chicken plate that comes with the Palestinian salad and the chicken kebab. The chicken was moist and juicy but the mint rice was bland. For the price it is, it’s really not that great. I think this place was just opened as an aesthetic. We didn’t even bother trying the desserts. It’s getting 3 stars because of how clean the restaurant was and the rustic vibe. If you’re in the area check them out, wouldn’t recommend traveling all the way out for them.
