Esporao No Porto

We had an excellent dinner with very good service. The food was of high quality, innovative and provided an experience of Portuguese food. The wines recommended paired very well with the food.

Attentive service, lovely ambience, superb food (in taste and presentation) and vast wine choice. We were celebrating our anniversary and this has been a real treat . must visit when in Porto!

The Esporao is a bit out of the down town core but is worth the walk up Rua do Almada. This is the next street over from, and runs parallel to, the major Av. dos Aliados. You walk across from the Prc. de Liberdade and turn right up the hill, Esporao will be on your left. The food is tremendous. Chef Artur and his sous chefs work miracles in a relatively small kitchen, and the front of house staff are friendly, multilingual (at least Portuguese, English, French), and knowledgeable about both food and drink. This is top-end dining at a moderate cost, and definitely worth the effort to get there. The meringue on the dessert was superb! If you like wine then their Quinta dos Murcas line (from the Douro valley) is excellent. Highly recommended.

Outstanding classy restaurant with excellent service and amazing food. A bit expensive but worth it if you appreciate fine dining in a relaxed sophisticated setting. The wine pairing was a real bargain.
