The only warm part of my francesinha was the sauce, toast was cold, meat was cold, fries were cold. Not worth the price.
Go ready to gorge … or order 1 to share. As a nervous ‘Francesinha Virgin’ I was pleasantly surprised; not normally one for slimier textures, this was delicious. The beer sauce is very moreish. After a very early and very long journey their Francesinha was a welcome meal to balance the body and set us up for a busy day touring the beautiful city of Porto… even a contender against the ol’ reliable ‘Full English’ the next time a heavy night gets the better of us/we’re looking for ‘FishnChips’ on a rainy day. Without much context, I’d still wager that this is one of the better examples available. The restaurant is clean, food quality good and service efficient yet friendly. Critiques/Suggestions; Ambiance is a tricky one when we were the first and only people for a fair while but a bit of background music would have been welcome. Most likely someone just forgot to turn it on, on this occasion. Personal taste; I wish I’d ordered a beer rather than a fruity sangria but don’t know much about beer; some descriptions on the menu would have helped me choose better. Maybe sacrilegious to say but personal taste; I would leave out the processed ham. Open at 11am to catch those who want a late breakfast or hungry for lunch after a very early flight arrival. This is a very big meal! Go hungry or as we saw 2 other forewarned/forearmed/genius diners do) order 1 to share!
Ambiente muito bom, comida e bebida excelentes e empregados super atenciosos. Obrigada ao Fernando (nosso empregado) que nos aturou a noite toda e foi top !
We were a bit disappointed by the Francesinha there, we loved this dish during our trip in Porto so we choose à restaurant making it, but we didn't like it at all here, it was really too heavy and had to much sauce, we struggle to finish all... The service and the restaurant were lovely though :
