We got caught out by the weather, and dived in here as they had under cover dry tables. It was raining like in biblical times. The staff were made up of people that seemed to be out of their depth working there. No rush very lacking charm, and everything seemed to be beyond them. The food was surprisingly well cooked, and well served. The gentleman serving us seemed to change as if a switch had been pressed, he turned into a very helpful individual. All around we had a pleasant experience and as i said the food was well cooked and presented.
We headed down to the Ribeira area of Porto on the banks of the Douro river for a walk around and some lunch, and found this super restaurant. Friendly service and great food and what a location for a lazy lunch overlooking the river and the Port Wine houses on the far bank. Also entertained by local street music as we savoured our grilled octopus and bream with the house wine. Highly recommend!
Directly at the river near the bridge. musicians often play outside the terrace, but we were late in a night that had a little cold. unpredictable and very friendly service. we sat inside where it was much more charming than it seemed from the street. steinbögen with blue flowing and our own personal balcony! the caldo verde, olive, grilled paprika and croquettes (gifts “Paste” with fresh salad are delicious and tasty as what we would share around a Portuguese family table. with wine and beer our bill was only €25. obrigada!
Good service, great view, eating was also good, not life-changing, but good place to taste traditional dishes.
