Restaurante Varanda da Barra - Porto

Atendimento excelente, comida sempre boa, ambiente que me faz voltar sempre.

Frequento há anos, excelentes pratos de carne peixe e italianos. Vistas panorâmicas sobre o rio é Gaia. De verão a varanda gigante e a temperatura são grandes aliciantes pra grandes jantares prolongados.

We had to wait to order, wait to have our drinks, several items on the menu that we ordered were not available but the waiters did not know, so we had to change our order. The food was good but a bit pricey for the...location and the feel of the restaurant. Our final bill included seven starters despite us only having one basket of bread, and we had an additional drink on our bill, which we did not have. They changed the bill without any issue, but then we had to wait five minutes until someone came to take our payment, despite our kids obviously being very tired and wanting to go. Not impressed.

We were three times in the position and varanda became our place. I'd get some cake, take a place. service was polite, timely and in English (not a rarity in the foz . an amazing product was duck rice, as translated. due (obviously, rice (repeat, linguica, and a Canadian type bacon. muy sabroso (sp. often, large families and get-togethers, the terrace is located above the local pingo doce market: very practical, in the did.

First floor restaurant with fine views over the mouth of the Douro. Lovely looking balcony with outside tables but it was too cold today for us to contemplate. Bacalhau de natas recommended. Lovely drop of Douro red to wash it down. Full on a Monday...lunchtime so best to arrive early or book. Took ages to get the bill.
