The meal was ok, that is it was nothing special, the sort of meal you could get anywhere on the island. It was however the way it was served that was most disappointing. It is clear that the ‘restaurant’ has a regular clientele brought in by the tour guides meaning they don’t have to work hard to attract customers it shows. After sitting down it soon became clear what type of service we were to get, we didn’t see a single smile on the face of any waiter. They didn’t quite throw the plates onto our table but they may as well have. We were on the island for only a short time but had great service from every restaurant or cafe with the exception of Dom Peixe. We will hopefully return to Porto Moniz in November but will eat elsewhere.
7 of us visited this lovely restaurant on a busy sunday lunchtime. We sat 'outside ' in the conservatory and had lovely garlic prawns, the freshest grilled sea bass you can imagine, a fruity Douro wine and the sweetest Creme Brulee. Must not forget to mention the very friendly waiter that served us. Great time, great place!
Great food, lovely staff and service. Two of us for lunch in January 2018: sopa peixe (fish soup), sopa legumes (vegetable soup), bolas do caco (garlic bread) and octopus salad.
Recomendo! Atendimento do melhor, comida deliciosa. Sopa de peixe é deliciosa! Vou voltar.
Ótima comida, grandes porções, recomendo!
