Feedback gevenCan’t believe Stanley Tucci recommended this place. There are a dozen or more regular restaurants that serve better food for half the price. Portofino definitely got the memo since there were only 2 other tables taken. The risotto was a huge disappointment. Practically swimming in pesto sauce and salty beyond reason. The lobster entree is more for for an appetizer. Didn’t even bother ordering desert. I can’t in good conscience recommend this place.
A lovely restaurant, with impeccable service and the food was exceptional, but what spoiled my evening was the “glass” of Donnafugata 2018 Chardonnay for 30€ (see photo) when I could have ordered a bottle for 80€. I usually never order wine without knowing the price, but I made a mistake tonight. After I finished dinner and one 10€ bottle of water, they started to pour a second bottle, which I never asked for, and then charged me, until I asked that it be removed from the bill, and it was. Everyone knows Portofino is expensive but this was too much, and would explain the empty tables when every restaurant around the harbor was filled.
Can’t believe we paid 300€/per for a tragedy. The food was totally destroyed our evening. Chef may try to show up his skills but the dishes were not good to eat at all. The service was correct. All tables are inside. We tried other neighbor restaurants after, they all better than this one.
That cracco is a well-established and well-known chef there are no doubts all good and perfect local wonderful place... but also true that you can not pay euro a pasta dish even if cooked divinely.
A friend and I decided to come to dinner from the new restaurant recently opened to Portofino from chef cracco (I was already in the restaurant in Milan, and I wanted to try again the experience of its dishes in a revisited key to the Liguria). the location is spectacular, the tables are in front of glass windows overlooking the port, the furniture is new and attention to detail. incredible is also the bar located inside a rock (difficult to explain in words, try to believe the staff is very kind and extremely helpful to please every customer's request. As for the courses, nothing to say if not: simply incredible, as you can expect from a chef of this calibre. Maybe the bill a little salty, but not too much more than what we expected. experience for positive, we had a lot of fun in doing this kind of experience, we are ocited by the restaurant with the smile printed on the face!
