Library - Portsmouth

This lovely restaurant is the kind of place that you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other momentous occasions. The prices are high, but so are the quality of the food, drinks, service, and surroundings. We celebrated our daughter's master's degree completion at the Library, and it was memorable from start to finish. All of our food was either good or great.Note: you have to go down a flight of stairs to access restrooms. Amanda was an excellent server. If you want a good red wine that doesn't break the bank (by itself, anyway), the Valpolicella from the Veneto region of Italy was stellar.

We went to The Library on a Wednesday night when they have entertainment. It was loud and hard to hear. The service was okay and we all had fish which was decent, not great. We really liked the atmosphere but the meal was only okay.

In all the years of dining out I have never experienced the service that Jessica gave us, she brought the dining experience to the next level
