S J Seafood - Portsmouth

There have only been a few things I was disappointed with (butterfly shrimp) but the good stuff overshadows. The D17 (3pc whiting) is my fave? it's enough for 2 grown men easily and a great price. Hushpuppies are perfect, fries are ok, slaw is so so.

The restaurant is extremely clean, and the fish is incredibly fresh. I plan on visiting S&J frequently. The owners are very welcoming. Parking is conveniently available right at the door.

I've been here twice since my husband discovered this place, and it has truly been a hidden gem for seafood lovers looking for affordable and well-prepared dishes. They offer both cooked seafood and raw options that you can prepare at home. There are plenty of choices available, and their hush puppies and potato salad are fantastic. Overall, I would rate the food a 5 out of 5.

This restaurant is fantastic and budget-friendly. I ordered crab legs for my wife and the whiting dinner for myself. It's truly a hidden gem. Food: 5/5.

The fish had a stale taste, which I didn't enjoy, although my husband seemed to like it. I think he was just really hungry!
