Just just a really nice Italian restaurant. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. A must go to if you are ever in Portsmouth.
The atmosphere was like an old, fancy-ish Italian restaurant, and the service was incredible. Our Caesar salads and arancini were delicious, but when it came time for our main courses… that was a whole different story. I got the chicken piccata and it was disgusting. The chicken seemed to be boiled and had a weird wet and squishy yet bumpy layer around the outside (I’m not sure if it was batter that was uncooked/untried or what) and the pasta was so overcooked it was like paste. The sauce had no flavor and was basically inedible. The capers were the only thing I truly could eat without getting grossed out. I hate to make this type of review, especially because the service was so great, and I didn’t have the heart to tell the waitress that it wasn’t great since she seemed to be pretty busy. Needless to say, if you go there I would just get a drink, a few appetizers, bread, and the salad.
Everything you'd expect dining in downtown Portsmouth.... excellence in every category.
The restaurant was clean and neat. The staff was pleasant. Your meal is served with a side salad which is almost non- existent theses days. We ordered garlic bread that came with a red sauce. I felt the red sauce could of been better with this many years under their belt. I had rigatoni with chicken in a garlic cream sauce. Very good. My wife had chicken cannelloni and enjoyed that. Overall the lunch was good.
