Mcdonald's - Portsmouth City

Thank you, McDonald's, for the fantastic lunch you prepared for Portsmouth Catholic Regional School!

This is the best McDonald's in Portsmouth. Every time I visit in person, I’m greeted by friendly staff who genuinely enjoy working there, whether it's morning or night. They proactively ask if you’d like sauce before you even think to request it, and the food is always fresh. The only issue I’ve encountered was with delivery, as the drivers often struggle to bring the correct order (likely due to lack of clear markings), but I don’t hold the restaurant responsible for that since my in-person experiences have always been enjoyable. Also, a huge thank you for never making me feel guilty for asking for five barbecue sauces – I'm a fan of sauces! I truly appreciate it.

Have ordered three times here. 2 of the times when the order was wrong. Take what you want. what was right was good.

This particular McDonald's was much quicker than the one closer to my home. The drive-thru at the Portsmouth Blvd location, which is near the port, has some unique features that tend to slow things down. But aside from that, there's not much to complain about. While 99% of fast food isn't great for you, we still end up going because it's more convenient than the other options.

You can always enjoy a fresh, hot meal at this location, no matter the time of day, but the menu options for late-night customers are somewhat limited. I visited around 3:00 AM hoping to grab breakfast after work, only to find that their breakfast menu doesn't start until 5:00 AM. Instead, I opted for a couple of double quarter pounders with cheese meals and a 9-piece chicken nugget meal, which turned out to be a delicious and satisfying replacement for the sausage McMuffin with egg meals I had originally planned to order. Also, just a heads up—there's no coffee available before 5:00 AM.
