Smile Cafe - Portsmouth

Does not expect to find a complete English vegan large breakfast in portsmouth. Just great. While it doesn't fit a lot of vegans, I really like a standard café for all. Large vegan breakfast included veg sausages, hashbrowns, drill and more. very impressed.

Southsea, indeed Portsmouth as a whole, is rather a wilderness for vegans so we were pleased to find Smile when we visited the area on Saturday 5th April 2014. It serves standard cafe food all day breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, roasts, omelettes, chips with vegetarian and vegan options clearly labelled. Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and the food is freshly prepared and tasty. They even have vegan cakes!

It’s so nice not to have wilted spinach on a vegan breakfast, sometimes you just want a proper fry up! The food is cooked fresh and isn’t greasy. It’s my go to cafe!

Good vegan options could do with more gluten free vegan options

Smiles is a great little family run cafe in southsea it provides honest non fussy cafe food. Staff are very knowledgeable about vegan and vegetarian requirements despite not being specifically targeting that audience. Always at least one vegan cake option to. The do a killer vegan fry up.
