I ordered a $15 seasonal salad, which was very small, and I was still hungry just half an hour later. The waitress was not very friendly and seemed uninterested in helping me identify which menu items were vegan. Most vegetarian dishes could only be modified by removing cheese. Overall, the experience felt like a mediocre, overcrowded chain restaurant. I recall this place being very vegan-friendly over a decade ago, but it has really declined since then. I wouldn’t go back or recommend it to other vegans.
Update June 2023: I returned for a work event and was quite disappointed. While vegetarians might find a few acceptable options, vegans will struggle. The restaurant heavily emphasizes its meat offerings and proudly markets itself as a premium meat establishment. I really don’t think it belongs on Happy Cow. They only had one vegan entree, which was an overpriced $20 head of poorly cooked cauliflower with little seasoning and limited sauce. The menu may have changed, but I'm not sure. This is an update from my previous review on March 25, 2023.
I used to visit this restaurant frequently as a vegetarian. They offer four options in the "meatless" category, which are vegetarian, but the only vegan items available are a few vegetable side dishes and an Impossible burger—just make sure to swap the bun and order it without cheese. I believe they could create some really tasty vegan dishes that would be well-received! If you're vegan, I wouldn't recommend coming here. Additionally, be aware that their chips are fried in the same oil as meat products, in case that's a concern for you. However, if you're vegetarian, definitely try the Impossible meatloaf!
Basically, you can get the impossible burger and the one vegan side (green veg). Fries are vegan, too. They really need to give you the option to veganize more items on the menu. The Paloma cocktail is delicious. There is no vegan dessert, aside from sorbet
Despite the meatless part of the menu, almost nothing is vegan. What 's worst, the menu doesn 't include any labels to differentiate between vegetarian and vegan. Not vegan are the Impossible meatloaf, roasted vegetables and avocado sandwich (even if you take out the cheese), meatless spaghetti squash Pomodoro. We ended up having to order the impossible burger and cauliflower steak. The cauliflower steak was good, but it was just a big head of cauliflower seasoned for $18 . Next time our friends recommend going I 'll be suggesting elsewhere.
