Heiderbraeu - Potsdam

We came in the evening, after spending the day touring all of Potsdam’s beautiful sights. We chose this place based on it’s relatively good reviews. We should have looked at some of the negative ones. We stood at the entrance waiting to be seated for...a short while and after that, there was nothing out of the ordinary; we received our menus and ordered. It must be noted that it was a windy day with a chance of rain and some of the staff was hurriedly bringing in the table settings. We ordered a soup and a main course. The soup was served relatively minutes or so). It was all downhill after that. As the wind was getting quite strong, we decided to move inside(we had already been waiting minutes after finishing the soup). The table was in their line of sight and it was obvious we were waiting for our food, since we had drinks and nothing on the table. After more minutes of waiting, we finally managed to catch a waitress’ attention. When we told her it had been awhile, she said it was apparently because of the rain and that we should just wait. The response seemed rather blunt but that was most likely because of the different languages. When our food finally arrived, minutes later, we didn’t really have time to enjoy it, as we were pressed for time (The last train to Berlin was leaving in minutes). It was decent, but nowhere near worth the wait. When we finished eating, it took another minutes to hail down a waiter and get the check. When I said I was paying by card, the waiter took back the check, which I suspect was to add a fee for using the card. I never did find out, since, out of frustration, I just decided to pay in cash. The cost, for a soup, a salad, Wiener schnitzel, fries, and a soda and beer, was which isn’t too much, but that was not the problem. All in all, average food, with far below average service. There is either a really slow cook, or the waiters are not serving the food quickly enough. A salad does not take minutes to prepare. There was little to no people waiting to be served when we got there, so there wasn’t exactly an excuse for the slow service. Don’t waste your money and especially not your time at this subpar restaurant, especially with so many other delightful restaurants in Potsdam.

Locatd in central Potsdam, with outdoor seating next to the newer tower in a cozy square. Seem to have a great beer selection, with several craft beers on bottle. Menu offers typical German dishes. Tried a schnitzel which was quite good. Inside seating has a...design that is much more modern than one would expect. Fairly attentive service.

Grabbed a meal at this place close to my hotel and ordered the schnitzel. Overall the schnitzel was good but the sewer potato waffle fries really added to the meal.

Sind nur auf ein Absackerchen hier eingekehrt. Wein und Bier top, preislich im Rahmen und die Speisekarte liest sich sehr verlockend ( schade, wir hatten schon gegessen ).Der Innen Bereich ist modern und schick ausgestattet.Der Laden war brechend voll, und unsere Bedienung extrem langsam aber nett.

Essen mittelmäßig bis schlecht!! Lange Wartezeit! Kellnerin sehr nett und freundlich! Der "Geschäftsführer" ist ja wohl der letzte Witz!!! Und das amuse bouche is auch nur ein Haufen Mist!!!
