Stopped by this place while on a road trip to Woodstock Farm Sanctuary. We looked them up online and saw that they had vegan options. We arrived and looked at the menu outside, but nothing was clearly labeled as vegan, only vegetarian. We were pretty sure what items we were going to eat but had a few questions. We entered the restaurant, which was pleasant looking. The woman at the front finished helping another customer and turned to us. My friend asked her “does the pita contain dairy?” To which the woman responded “I have no idea. I really wouldn’t be the person to ask.” We were all confused. My friends said “okay, who would be.” She shrugged and said “google?” At that point we walked out of the restaurant and decided not to eat in a place where that was how we would be treated. It was a shame because after we left, it looked like she was being reprimanded by the owners. Honestly, it was frustrating and disrespectful, and we had driven 20 minutes, paid a toll, and crossed a bridge just to turn around and go right back to find somewhere else to eat.
We ordered the falafel combo platter it was pretty good, falafel was excellent, cucumber salad and dolma were good, hummus was tasty, the rice was okay. Interior of restaurant was spacious and very quiet, maybe too quiet, some music may have helped. Service was excellent owner was there and she was so lovely and proud to feed us. They do have freshly made tahini jarred up front for sale. $8.99 for a huge jar a bargain! The food was good , I would give more stars if there was more variety the vegan options are limited and they are all pretty much the same items, just served in different ways- on a pita, on a platter , or number of falafel varies.
He was taken from here and had escaped the Veggie Sampler. Babaganush, hummus, fat salad, falafel and pita were all delicious and fresh, but the tabbouli had a strange floral taste.
