2 pax. We were guided by the local filling station attendant who indicated that this was where local workers go for lunch. He advised we choose the grilled chicken or pork clam stew. . Most of the patrons were in overalls and arrived in commercial vehicles. There was the odd Merc driver with colleagues in suits. There is no menu, but we were foolowed the advice given and chose chicken piri piri. Soup arrives irrespective of what ypu are eating. Delicious thick vegetable soup with pumpkin, cabbage onion. A small plate of bacalao and mince pies. Bread basket, a glass of vinho verde which complemented the meal well. We could not finish the chicken which was accompanied by a mountain a well made chips. With coffee the bill was €32. Exceptional value.
